A 20 × [Fe(20 Å)/Cr (12 Å)]/MgO structure excited by an ultrasonic wave was investigated by polarized neutron reflectometry. It was found that magnetic domains oscillate and their effective size decreases in weak magnetic fields. In close-to-saturation fields, a magnetic lattice is formed in the layered structure; the interplanar spacings in this lattice change with an increase in the field strength and as a result of the excitation of the structure by an ultrasonic wave. 相似文献

Non-self-consistent density functional theories require specification of the embedding energy for an atom in a reference system. We combine the embedding energies determined from linear muffin tin orbital (LMTO) calculations of the bulk cohesive energy curves with those determined from the experimental diatomic binding curve. These new embedding functions contain information about the variation of binding with both coordination and separation between atomic centers. These are shown to be superior to embedding functions determined solely from bulk cohesive energy curves through tests on structures and energies of small metal clusters, self-diffusion of adatoms on metal surfaces, and scattering of metal atoms from metal surfaces. 相似文献

There are two classes of model-independent procedures used for data reduction in Mössbauer spectroscopy viz. resolution improvement and the linear combination methods. Quite often both kinds of procedures can be used one after the other. The resolution-improvement methods decrease the Lorentzian broadening of the resonance lines. The latter face the problem of finding a reasonable compromise between increased noise and false oscillations. The linear combination methods may be used to decompose spectra into several components. Aqueous solutions of DL-β-phenylalanine from a biotechnological process have been desalted by simulated moving bed preparative liquid-chromatography (SMB LC). During the design of a laboratory-scale continuous procedure four kinds of reversed-phase polymeric resin were compared. A suitable adsorbent was chosen and operating conditions were subsequently optimized by using equilibrium data obtained experimentally; productivity of the amino acid was used as the optimization target function.
